Adventure & Yoga Retreat in Portugal

A 5-DAY EXPERIENCE IN THE BEAUTIFUL BLUES OF THE ALGARVE

9th-14th October 2024

Balance is the key to a happy, healthy life

The slow pace of yoga-only retreats can get a bit boring. But this is not your bootcamp style fitness camp either.

You’ll find the ideal balance between exploring the area and coastline (while getting the heart rate up) throughout your stay.

Perfect for those who love a bit of a challenge, to earn the pool time and vibrant food that follows. Maybe a cheeky glass of wine too.

The perfect balance of activity & reward

“The retreat was fabulous! Yoga with Jess was great – she did a mixture of relaxing and more intense classes and even taught us the basics of headstands.

We did some paddle boarding at sunrise which was an amazing experience. The fitness sessions with Kim were tough but fun!

The vegan food was catered for by Katie and was absolutely delish! I would definitely go again!”

Elevate your heart rate surrounded by nature

The vitamin D from being outdoors, the fresh air and epic views. The main goal of our retreats is that you get as much of your activities as possible set outdoors.

You’ll take part in:

  • Workouts in our private garden
  • Ocean-side workouts
  • Hikes along the epic coastal clifftops
  • A local guided bicycle ride to a couple of close-by beaches
  • A sunrise paddle boarding session with local guides

You’ll be exploring and working out in perfect temperatures too: this area of Portugal in October sees average temperatures from 19° to 26°.

We provide all the equipment for the activities which means you can pack light – just don’t forget your padded cycling shorts!

Workouts & yoga all adapted to suit your level

“Had a great 5 days in Portugal with Kim and the crew.

Yoga with Jess was so chilled and relaxed. The SUP was challenging but great fun. The cycling and fitness activities were fully organised and suitable for all levels of fitness.

The food by Katie was wonderful – vegan & vegetarian – didn’t miss my meat/fish quota at all. Thanks for a great break Kim”

Your home for the retreat

You’ll call the picturesque ‘Quinta Agave’ home for your time with us.

Made up on 6 individual apartments (so if there are a few of you coming, we can group you together), there’s a mix of twin and double rooms available with shared bathrooms.

With kettle and coffee machine for your early-caffeine fix, towels and WIFI included for all, for free.

We’ll be using the private garden for some of our workouts and yoga classes. Then hop in our private pool to cool off afterwards.

Daily rooftop yoga

You’ll be guided by the wonderful Anna Bailey, who is a regular on our Scottish retreats.

You’ll take part in one or sometimes two yoga sessions each day. Designed to compliment your other activities.

So on the days we hike, you’ll get a slower and more relaxing class. But we’ll pick up the pace on the days when the workouts are lighter.

Explore the Algarve at your own pace

During your time with us at Quinta Agave you’ll get free bike hire.

It’s only a 10 minute bike ride to the gorgeous fishing village on Burgau, where you wander around during your afternoon down-time.

Or cycle to the beach before breakfast if you fancy an early morning swim to start your day!

Staying fuelled for exploring

Our incredible chef, Katie, will be cooking fresh, vibrant, vegan and veggie feasts, 3 times a day. We’ll be cracking open a bottle or two of the local vino throughout the week as well. Last year even the carnivores said they didn’t miss eating meat or fish for a week!

Everything you need to refuel after energetic sessions.

The journey to your 5 days of self-care

You’ll find flights usually between £50 and £150 if you fly from London, Edinburgh or Manchester to Faro (an hour from our villa) in October, outside of school holidays.

Then a few weeks before we arrive, you’ll get an invite to a WhatsApp group with all your fellow retreat-ers. That means you can meet up at the airport and travel together if you’re coming to us from similar routes.

Once you’ve booked your spot, we’ll send you some more info on how to get to us, whether you’d prefer to take the train or a private taxi. Or maybe you’ve decided to explore Portugal a bit further afield and make your own way to us. The choice is yours.

You only need to pay £250 today to secure your spot

Pay a £250 deposit today to make sure your spot in locked in.

Your food, wine, snacks, accommodation, and bike hire are all included.

This deposit is non-refundable, as it takes us a fair time to organise all your activities and put down a deposit for our caterer and paddle boarding guides.

Your second instalment of £500 is due on 8th August.

And your final instalment will be due on the 8th September. (That’s £500 if you’ve booked a shared room or £650 if you’ve booked a private double).

You’ll get a reminder from Kim a week before each payment is due.

Just in case something goes awry on your end, we recommend getting travel insurance sooner rather than later to cover anything you book separate from us, like flights or airport transfer.

Come home feeling energised

“The European retreat was absolutely incredible, amazing food, amazing yoga and fitness sessions as well as a whole host of other activities like hiking, paddle boarding and cycling.

I am back feeling energised and refreshed.

Such incredible work had gone into organising everything so smoothly. Will definitely be joining again”
